Biography
Dr. Jeffrey Shum is from London, Ontario Canada. He attended the University of Western Ontario and graduated with a Bachelors degree in Biology in 2000. He then went to Queen’s University in Kingston, Ontario and graduated with his MD in 2004 before returning to the University of Western Ontario for residency. He completed General Surgery in 2009, specialist training in Critical Care Medicine in 2010 and then a Multi-Organ Transplant Surgery Fellowship in 2012.
Dr. Shum moved to Sudbury from London, Ontario in the summer of 2013 after completing his training. He is a member of the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada since 2009, American Board Certified in General Surgery in 2010, Re-Certified in 2021 and a Fellow of the American College of Surgeons since 2015.
He and his wife welcomed a baby girl into their family in November 2016 and a second daughter in March 2020.
His interests include hepatopancreatobiliary (HPB) surgery, critical care medicine, trauma, advanced endoscopy and medical education.
